Piyush Kant Dixit, a Professor at Shri lal Bahadur Shastri Rashtriya Sanskrit Vidyapeeth, New Delhi would be the new Vice-Chancellor of Uttarakhand Sanskrit University, Haridwar.
The Governor of Uttarakhand, Dr K K Paul made the appointment of Dixit under the power bestowed on him under Uttar Pradesh state university act 1973 (which is followed in Uttarakhand state)-section 12.
The appointment of the new VC would be for a period of three years from date of assuming office or 65 years of age whichever is earlier. The new VC would take place of Dr Mahavir Prasad whose term recently ended. Dixit apart from having a rich teaching experience has held many important academic and administrative assignments.
