A 17-year-old boy was rescued by the district task force from a doctor’s house near CMI hospital here on Saturday. As per the information, the boy who is a native of West Bengal had come here to work as domestic help. However not being paid he ran away from the house and was rescued by team.
Sandeep Pant from Bachpan Bachao Andolan (BBA) who also is a member of the task force said, “We rescued a minor from a doctor’s house, which is situated near CMI hospital. The minor is from Bengal and came here with four other minor boys from Delhi. This is a case of child trafficking as the kid gave a statement that he was sent here nearly six or seven months ago by a firm. A representative of the firm dropped him here, after which he started working in the doctor’s house as a domestic help.”
He further said, “The minor accepted that he was not being paid well from months and also was not given food from days. Being left with no option he ran away from the house stealing some of the belongings of the doctor. We are filing an FIR against the doctor after which the kid will be handed over to the Child Welfare Committee (CWC).
