While taking a review meeting in Haridwar on Wednesday, the Minister in-charge of Haridwar district, Satpal Maharaj said that  the district officials must go for physical verification of the developmental works being done here. He also asked them to include  the legislators  and the people’s representatives in the important meetings involving the district officials. He also directed them to connect the primary health centres, CHCs and Anganwadi centres with common service centre or Panchayat Bhawan through networking.

On the issue of health centres, MlA from Jwalapur Adesh Chauhan  complained that despite an assurance being given about Rs 1500 per month to be provided for the running of common service centre, no fund has been dispensed so far.   The Minister directed the officials concerned to look into the matter. ADM finance Abhishek Tripathi said that digitisation work of maps was still pending to which Satpal Maharaj directed the officials to expedite things. The Minister also questioned why the electricity supply was erratic and Manglaur village was getting electricity for only 15 hours a day when there is no deficit of electricity in the State.

He stressed on the electricity transformers in the district having contact numbers displayed over them so as to enable the people to contact the officials in case the transformers develops some snags.  He said this in the wake of a complaint made by MlA Roorkee Pradeep Batra and MlA from laksar Sanjay Gupta  who said that the people collected funds among themselves to move transformers to the power office for repair or change.

Admitting that the paucity of doctors at the health centres could only be addressed by the State Government, Maharaj said that the doctors must attend their  duty regularly.

MlA from Manglaur said that  the National Vector-borne Disease Control Programme was not being implemented here despite  the rainy season being round the corner. MlA from Bhagwanpur Mamta Rakesh said that the  crumbling health centres were in no position to address the medical needs of the  patients.

Besides, Maharaj instructed the officials to make a traffic plan in view of the forthcoming Kanwad Mela.
