Conducting the final preparations for the first of its kind human chain event in Dehradun, district police department, district administration and Municipal Corporation of Dehradun officials conducted a joint briefing session on Sunday at Reserve Police Lines. For security purposes, the entire programme area has been divided into nine zones. Police personnel and other officers and employees on duties have been asked to reach their duty points two hours in advance.
Mayor Sunil Uniyal ‘Gama’ said that such an event will be a historic moment for the people of Dehradun. He also said that to make the event successful district administration, police administration and Municipal Corporation of Dehradun (MCD) have completed all preparations from their levels.
Dehradun District Magistrate C Ravishankar said, all the officers in-charge of their zones have been instructed to coordinate with their counterparts from police department and MCD. They are also to coordinate with nearest nursing homes and hospitals in case of any emergency.
Dehradun Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Arun Mohan Joshi said, all the district administration officers and police officers have been instructed to coordinate with each other.
The additional officers will ensure ground level preparations and security arrangements at all zones. They will ensure that no vehicle is to operate at the programme space during the main event.
Traffic arrangements and route diversion plan has been devised. Parking space for everyone is already designated.
