To keep vigil on the election expenditure to be incurred by the candidates, including the independent candidates, Dehradun election officer Ravinath Raman has constituted a district expenditure monitoring committee on Saturday.
Raman said that election control room has been established at Collectorate and officials have been deputed there. One can register their complaint regarding Assembly election at election control room through telephone numbers- 0135-2726066, 0135-2626066 and 0135-2722045.
The telephone numbers will be operational for 24 hours all the days till the election process is over. Complaints received at election control room will be forwarded to the officers concerned for redressal of their grievances or further action, DM said.
Raman inspected the election control room also and directed the officials to act unbiased.
He further said that all the possible steps are being taken to conduct the election peacefully.
He further said that notification will be released on January 20. Candidates will be able to file nomination before the returning officer till January 27. Nomination papers will be reviewed on January 30. Candidates can withdraw their nomination on February 1. Polling will be held on February 15.
