Discourse on Ramayana in Sewakunj a major crowd puller

Published on:

The nine-day discourse series by various religious and political  stalwarts at Sewakunj near Chandi ghat organised by the Divya Prem Sewa mission has become a major crowd- puller these days. Started on the first Navratra, the famous speaker, Vijay Kaushal, said that the character of Rama of Ramayana was inspiring and relevant in today's scenario which is much ruled by selfishness while sacrifice was the foremost virtue in being spiritual.

The coordinator of the discourse series, the president of Divya prem sewa mission Ashish Gautam said,"To mark the Ardh kumbh mela we have organised a series of discourses by the subject experts from various fields. Talks on societal issues, ganga cleaning, conservation of natural resources and other issues of eminence form part of this programme."

Speaking on the occasion on Sunday, retired Major General G D Bakshi said, "Intolerance is the buzz word in modern world and so is the media engaged in talk on the subject. 23000 hours were wasted by media channels on this topic recently. Infact Indian media is controlled by foreign groups and they wish to demolish the Indian tradition and secularism." Governor of Punjab also participated in the deliberations. Baba Ramdev said that those who have no feeling for the nation and its emblems,  would never understand the meaning of intolerance. Our religious scriptures never talk of the intolerance.
