Digvijay's visit to Jagadguru ashram sparks speculation

The political circles are abuzz with speculation after  the senior Congress leader and former Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Digvijay Singh visited Jagadguru Ashram in Kankhal on Wednesday.

It is well-known that the head of the ashram Swami Rajrajeshwarashram is close to Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh and is in touch with BJP leaders.

It is learnt that two local Congress leaders accompanied Digvijai to the ashram. Digvijai claimed that Rajrajeshwarashram being his spiritual guru, the visit was a formal one. However, the meeting between the seer and the Congress veteran having dragged for over three hours has sparked curiosity.

Earlier, the leaders of the saffron constellation used to make a beeline to meet the seer. Now, a Congress leader of the stature of Digvijai Singh having done the same has naturally set tounges wagging with the political observers seeing in it unfolding of a new political equation.

While talking to the media persons, Digvijai Singh sought to scotch such speculations, saying that BJP has become a platform of the corrupt. He also  took a swipe at BJP President Amit Shah, saying that mere partaking food in a Dalit’s house meant nothing. “They must bring about some concrete welfare programmes for the unprivileged people,” he said. He again reiterated his stance that Rahul Gandhi must be made the national President of the Congress.
