Deputy inspector general of police Garhwal Range Pushpak Jyoti is starting a three- day tour of four districts- Chamoli, Rudraprayag, Pauri and Tehri- from May 18 to review security arrangements of the four shrines to which the pilgrimage is now on and also to take stock of the same for the Tharali Assembly by-poll- slated on May 28.
He would also review the security put into place along the Char Dham Yatra routes during the trip.
It is learnt that he would visit Kedarnath on the first day of the tour and would take stock of the security set up put into place there with the Rudraprayag district police officers. On May 19, he would reach Chamoli district via Guptkashi. This is a double purpose trip.
He would chair a meeting on the pilgrimage arrangements besides the security for the Tharali Assembly by-poll with the district police officers at Gopeshwar.
On May 20, he would inspect Tharali to monitor things himself.
There he would talk to the administrative and police officers to ensure fool- proof arrangements for the by-poll.
