Diarrhoea scares Haldwani as basic amenities shrink

Published on:

As the basic services like electricity and drinking water supply are crumbling and the summer heat is turning gruelling, the increasing number of cases of water and vector-borne diseases like diarrhea is triggering an alarm. Things are really grim with over a dozen children being admitted as  down with  Diarrhea at Haldwani's Base Hospital.

The children thus admitted at the Base Hospital are mainly from Haldwani's line number-16, Safdar Ka Bagicha, Rajpura and neighbouring lalkuan. The doctors attending upon these children claimed that things are under control, saying that such cases are normal during this time of the year. The doctors asked the people to take necessary precautions during the summer months to protect themselves from such diseases.

They stressed on dietary pattern being taken care of. Interestingly, when the doctors are asking the people to avoid eating cut fruits and food in open places this is having no impact on the ground. Despite occasional raids to stop roadside vendors from selling edible items in the open places, things are still continuing unabated. Mention worthy, Haldwani's Rajpur and Indira Nagar are among the places which are  vulnerable to the water and vector-borne diseases, given the past records.
