locals questioning why it has been discontinued, says Bhatt

leader of Opposition in the Vidhan Sabha, Ajay Bhatt has said that the helicopter service introduced by the State government in Dharchula Assembly segment just before the Assembly bypolls earlier this year has now been shut down. Bhatt has alleged that the helicopter service was aimed at electoral gains as even the locals are now questioning as to why the service has been discontinued.

According to Bhatt, “In order to entice the voters in the CM’s constituency prior to the bypolls, the helicopter service was started. Subsequently the rates of this service were increased and later the service was discontinued which makes it clear that the service was meant mainly to misguide the voters. There is major difference between what the Government says and what it does,” he said.

lambasting the State government, he said that the government is busy in tackling internal factionalism to the detriment of developmental works in the State. “Ministerial employees have been protesting for about a month but the State government has not addressed their issues yet. The government should have held talks with the protesting employees and met their valid demands to end their strike but the government does not appear concerned about resolving the problem. Strike by government employees has created an atmosphere of disorder across the State with the people facing severe inconvenience in getting their routine works done through the government.

Had the government been concerned about the interests of the State, it would have held talks with the striking employees to reach a solution to the problem but the apathy of the State government has exacerbated problems resulting from striking government employees. Any MlA from the ruling party who exposes the failures of the State government is given various facilities and enticed into keeping silent within a few hours but the Government has remained apathetic to the ministerial employees who have been on strike for about 20 days,” said Bhatt. He has demanded that the State government take necessary action to resolve the strike without delay to prevent further inconvenience to the public.
