The minister of state for cooperatives Dhan Singh Rawat claimed in the state assembly on Tuesday that the result of the cooperative bank examinations would be declared within a week.  Participating in a discussion initiated by the Congress MLA from Jaspur, Adesh Chauhan who took the state government to the task for holding the examination of cooperative banks in the centres situated outside the state, the minister said that the decision was taken by the governing bodies of the banks. He said that the banks decided that an independent agency IBPS should be hired to conduct to examination. Rawat added that since the state had a capacity to conduct ‘online’ examination of only 13000 candidates at a time it was decided to hold the examination in centres outside the state. He added that examinations in two shifts were organised in the centres of Uttarakhand. The minister informed that as many as 21000 non resident Uttarakhandis were enrolled in the examination and setting up the centres outside the state suited them. He said that more than 62 percent applicants appeared in the examination and its result would be declared soon.
