Taking strong exception to the failure of top education department officers to send their travel plans for the month of May, the Director General (DG) of School Education, M Senthil Pandian has threatened to take stern punitive action. Interestingly not even a single officer cared to submit the travel plan for approval.
The DG in his previous meetings and video conferencing interactions had repeatedly asked the officers to ensure that they should get their travel plans for a month cleared by the last date of previous month.
In a letter directed to Additional Directors (AD) Primary and Secondary of Garhwal and Kumaon division, all Chief Education Officers (CEOs), all District Education Officers (DEOs) primary and secondary, all Principals of District Institutes of Education and Training (DIET), all Block Education Officers (BEOs) and all Deputy Education Officers to explain as to why they did not bother to seek approval of their travel plans despite repeated orders.
In his tersely worded letter, the DG has asked as to why an adverse remark should not be made in their Annual Confidential Report (ACR) for it. These officers have been asked to file an explanation for this inordinate delay by May 7.
