Tightening the noose around the teachers of State education department known for dereliction of their duties, the Director General (DG) of school education has implemented No work, No pay concept in the department.
In an order directed to all the officers of State education service, DG Senthil Pandian has taken strong exception to incidences of teachers absconding from the schools. “It is learnt that many teachers remain absent in the schools on the plea that they had to attend some training of the department. But it is found that they are absent from these trainings as well,’’ the order says.
Pandian has asked the education department officers to prepare a list of such teachers and implement no work on work principle on them. The DG has said that appropriate departmental action on the teachers found absent from their work for considerable period of time should be initiated which include adverse entries in their service book and discontinuance of service.
