The repercussion of Gurmeet Ram Rahim Singh episode has reached Uttarakhand as many bus services of State roadways have been suspended. The Uttarakhand roadways has suspended as many as 80 bus services bounded to the States of Haryana, Punjab and Rajasthan.
The roadways administration had cancelled 50 bus services to Punjab and Haryana on Thursday as situation in these areas was tense. After the violence broke out in Haryana after the arrest of Dera Sacha Sauda chief in connection with a rape case on Friday, the roadways decided to cancel many more bus services. The General Manager (GM) operations of Uttarakhand roadways, Deepak Jain said that 80 bus services to the states of Haryana, Punjab and Rajasthan have been suspended. He said that the situation is being closely monitored and more buses services can be cancelled if the need arises. Jain further informed that the buses on the Delhi route are plying but caution is being exercised.
