'Demolition shows CM's vindictive attitude'

Taking potshots at the State Government, leader of the Opposition and senior State BJP leader Ajay Bhatt said on Tuesday that demolition of the property of Ashok Pandey by MDDA at the behest of the Chief Minster Harish Rawat reeks of the CM’s vindictive attitude against him.

Pandey is supposed to have conducted  the sting operation on the former personal secretary to CM Mohammad Shahid that purportedly showed him as negotiating a deal with a liquor baron. Bhatt said MDDA had singled out  the building with an ulterior motive. “Everybody knows how buildings are coming up in violation of the rules,” he said.

Bhatt further said that they had already submitted a copy of the CD, which had been made public by the Union minister Nirmala Sitharaman in Delhi on July 22, to the Governor of the State. “The matter being serious with CM himself being  embroiled in it should be probed into by  CBI. But CM is intent on buying time to let the matter lose its sting. Further, the  State Government is not releasing the IAS officer Md Shahid because they know he would spill the beans to save his own skin when DoPT would grill him to fix responsibility,” Bhatt added.
