With Special Investigation Team (SIT) formed by the State police to probe Ruby Choudhary mystery allegedly pussyfooting around a fortnight after the case came to light, the demand for a CBI investigation is gaining momentum. The refrain running over the unraveled riddle is that SIT is engaged in witch-hunting while seeking to shield the main actors from the arms of law.
“The case of the woman staying clandestinely in the highly fortified academy precincts marks a gross intelligence failure. But what is more worrisome is that the SIT formed with the specific purpose of solving the mystery is seeking to beguile all by focusing on Ruby who is just an insignificant part of the mystery,” said the leader of the Opposition in the State Assembly Ajay Bhatt on Tuesday.
“The probe team has not yet shown the spunk to even grill the lal Bahadur Shastri National Academy of Administration (lBSNAA)’s officials, including deputy director Saurabh Jain who are supposed to have facilitated Ruby’s stay there in lieu of hefty sums. It is becoming clear with each passing day that a CBI probe alone can clear things aside from effectively stopping the possibility of its recurrence,” the senior BJP leader added.
In course of the investigation, SIT has found that some academy officials had deleted some files/documents related to Ruby Choudhary case from the computer presumably to ensure they are not nailed in the sensational case. However, the investigation team has not yet cared to question the academy top brass, let alone arrest anyone of them.
“Does the sloth mean that they are giving the officials sufficient time to destroy all the evidences that are still left to help them steer clear of the issueIJ They claim they have evidences enough to nail some academy officials. However, on the ground, they are sitting on the case, giving the impression that they are seeking supinely to protect the high and the mighty while hunting for the lesser players,” said Bhatt.
Aside from the saffron party, Samajwadi Party too demand CBI probe into the case, saying that the State-run agency has proved themselves incapable of taking things to their logical conclusion. The SP activists staged stir in Dehradun over the past few days on the matter too to pressurise the State Government to hand over the case to the country’s premier investigative agency.
“The SIT probe is a sham, meaning nothing for the people interested to have responsibility adequately fixed. Those complicit in the case must be nailed and punished. A CBI probe alone can clear the air of the murkiness hanging over the case,” said the state SP president Dr Satyanarayan Sachan.
