Poor percentage of delivery being carried out in the Government-run hospitals in Nainital district has left the district administration worried. According to the officials concerned of the Nainital district administration, only 63 percent deliveries are being carried out in the government-run hospitals in the district -- a figure that confirms that the people are preferring private facilities to the State-run ones for delivery.
Sounding concerned over the state-run facilities losing out to private ones, US Rana, ADM, Nainital, has asked the district health officials concerned to ensure that all the expecting mothers come to the State-run hospitals. For this to become a reality, maintenance of the health services in the Government-run facilities is a must, he stressed.
At the same time, the Nainital district administration has stressed on the need to involve Aasha health workers for the cent per cent registration of the expecting women. Meanwhile, to bring things on the right track, the Nainital district administration has directed health officials concerned to conduct regular visits to their respective areas and take necessary steps to maintain health services.
The health officials at the block level must hold regular meetings with Aasha health workers and other officials concerned and ensure better health care facilities to the needy, affirmed the Nainital district administration officials. The health officials concerned have also been advised by the Nainital district administration to arrange family planning camps in both urban and hill areas and to ensure registration of the pregnant women at an early stage so that necessary health care facilities could be accordingly provided to the needy.
