Dubbing BJP’s landslide victory in Delhi Municipal Corporation elections as historic, the Union Minister Ravi Shankar Prasad said that it is a manifestation of the people’s moutning confidence in the leadership of the Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Ridiculing the leaders like Delhi CM Arvind Kejariwal, former UP CM Akhilesh Yadav and BSP chief Mayawati crying foul of the alleged EVM manipulation, he said that the EVMs were wonderful when AAP won the election in Delhi in 2015, Mayawati won the UP Assembly election in 2007 and Akhilesh Yadav won the same in 2012. “Now when BJP has won they are inventing ghost of manipulation in the same EVMs,” he said. Training his gun on Kejariwal in particular, he said that the maverick Delhi leader had better quit as the CM while attributing his 2012 victory to tampered EVMs. “This gesture would send the right message,” he said. While commenting on the Sukma carnage where 26 CRPF jawans were killed by the Maoists, Prasad said that the cowardly act should be condemned by one and all, including human right activists. “The so-called HR activists are inclined to raise harangues on trifles. They should break their stony silence on the slaying of so many jawans by some left wing extremists,” he said.
