The State Project Director (SPD) SSA, has issued show-cause notices to District Project Officers and Assistant Finance and accounts officers of eight districts of the State for not submiting audit report of construction and repair of toilets of Government schools.
In the financial year 2015-16 the Ministry of Finance, Government of India provided budget for repair and construction of 693 school toilets in the State. The department now is required to submit Utilisation Certificate (UC) after audit by CA to the Centre.
The SPD, SSA in the month of March this year had asked the officers concerned to complete the process of audit by April 2016 but the officers of Almora, Bageshwar, Dehradun, Haridwar, Nainital, Pithoragarh, Udham Singh Nagar and Uttarkashi failed to comply the order.
