The Almora district administration has expressed disappointment over the slow pace of the ration card digitisation process in the district. Digitisation of ration cards is vital to ensure proper implementation of the Food Security Scheme. So all the officials concerned are supposed to expedite the ration card digitisation process, said the district administration, Almora.
The fact of the matter is that in case of non digitisation of ration cards, the needy ration card holders would not be able to get their monthly ration quota. So carelessness on part of the officials concerned will not be tolerated at any cost in this regard, asserted the district administration, Almora, asking the officials concerned to complete the ration card digitisation process in the district as early as possible.
Mention worthy, in order to bring about greater degree of transparency in its functioning and more importantly, to ease inconvenience to the people particularly the ration cardholders, the State Government has decided to conduct its all business transactions online from this year. The digitisation of the ration cards may also come in handy to maintain transparency in the public distribution system which is one of the most important departments catering to a huge segment of the society and to cover a maximum number of needy people under the subsidised food grain scheme in the hill State.
