The activists of Akhil Bharatiiya Vidhyarthi Parishad (ABVP) protested against delay in declaration of results of semester examinations at DAV PG College here on Friday and burned the effigy of the Vice Chancellor (VC) of HNB Garhwal Central University.
The members of the ABVP and other students of the college assembled outside the college and shouted slogans against the university. Addressing the students the president of the student’s union of the college, Rahul Kumar said that students suffer due to delay in declaration of results and arrival of mark sheets.
He said HNB University is a central university but in the mark sheets there is no mention of word central. The students complained that semester system is implemented in the college as it is affiliated to the central university but delay in declaration of results is normal due to which the students could not get admissions many courses. The agitated students then burned the effigy of the VC.
They shouted slogans before consigning the effigy to flames. The student’s union of the college is consistently demanding that the college should get de affiliated from the HNB Garhwal Central university and should get affiliated with Sri Dev Suman Uttarakhand University.
