After the leader of Opposition in the Vidhan Sabha, Ajay Bhatt called for declaration of Gairsain as the State Capital, the Communist Party of India (Marxist) State secretary Rajendra Negi has also demanded that the Congress-led State Government should declare Gairsain as the permanent State capital of Uttarakhand.
Addressing the media at Gairsain, a day ahead of the start of Vidhan Sabha session there, the CPI (M) State secretary said that workers of the party will stage a demonstration at Gairsain on various raging issues like consistent price rise, corruption and deteriorating condition of law and order in the State among other issues.
lambasting the Congress-led State Government for disappointing performance in various sectors, Negi pointed out that the condition of even basic facilities like road network, drinking water supply, electricity supply, Government education system and the health and medical system is quite poor especially in the mountainous rural regions of the State.
He further said that CPI (M) members from across the State are expected to arrive in Gairsain soon to participate in the protest against the State Government.
