Death of Satpuli block pramukh: Family alleges murder

Published on:

The Satpuli tehsil revenue police have registered a case against unknown persons under Section 302 of the Indian Penal Code in connection with the unnatural death of former block pramukh of Jaharikhal Arun Kanthwal (41).

The case was registered by the revenue police on the basis of the report lodged by the elder brother of the deceased Sunil Kanthwal on Sunday. The family members of deceased said a conspiracy was afoot to make the murder look like a road accident. Satpuli Tehsil Tehsildar Kamlanand said the investigation into the case is being done by the revenue sub-inspector (Pattwari) of Malla badalpur-3. The body of Arun Kanthwal and his vehicle was found  deep in a gorge near Pundar village along the Satpuli-Sisaldi motor road on Saturday morning.

It is learnt that the blood trails hidden under mud were found on the road nearly nine km towards Satpuli from the spot of the incident.  Some portion of protective railing  along the road was also found damaged.

It is being assumed by many that after Arun Kanthwal was done in the body and the car were thrown in the gorge and the railing was damaged to give the pre-meditated murder semblance of an accident.

According to revenue police, the deceased went to his village Dudharkhal  in his Bollero on Friday. Arun told his wife that he would return home by 8.30 pm. As he did not return his wife called him on his mobile, but the mobile was found switched off. Some women from Hundal village who were collecting fodder saw the car deep into the gorge on Saturday morning and informed police.

Family members of the deceased said he was bumped off by contract killers brought from outside.
