Demanding the transfer of Dehradun Chief Judicial Magistrate (CJM) Rajiv Kumar, Dehradun Bar Association (DBA) members continued their indefinite period work boycott of work in the CJM court on the second consecutive day on Thursday.
The protesters warned that they will continue to boycott work in the CJM court in protest till their demand is met. Advocates reached the court premises on Thursday but boycotted the work in the CJM court.
DBA secretary R Kathait said that the association has been boycotting the court of the CJM since Wednesday because of his rude behaviour towards advocates. He alleged that Kumar behaves rudely with advocates. Regarding this, the DBA working committee met earlier on Tuesday with members criticising Kumar for his attitude towards lawyers.
A memorandum seeking the transfer of the CJM was submitted to the district judge Ram Singh on Tuesday. A delegation of DBA that met the district judge informed him about the CJM's rude behaviour towards advocates while demanding his transfer. The boycott of work in the court of CJM will continue unless he is transferred from Dehradun, Kathait stressed.
