In support of their various demands the student union of DAV college gheraoed the Principal on Thursday. The students stormed into the room of Principal under leadership of DAV student union President Rakesh Negi. The agitated students expressed their resentment at the fact that despite completion of deadline the construction of 18 new rooms in the college is still far from complete. The students said that the construction of toilets for girl students is also pending. The Principal said that the construction work would be completed before March next year and the students would be able to use them from next academic session. The students also told the Principal that teaching is yet to start in the college and the department heads have not even prepared the time table. Bhasin said that all the HOD’s have been strictly asked to prepare the time table and assured that the classes would positively start from Monday. The students asked the Principal as to from how many years the college building is not painted. Negi said that the college charges Rs 100 from every student in the name of development charges. The leaders of student union demanded the details of budget and expenses. They said that the college should reveal the status of fees received from the students.
