On the issue of stock verification of library, the students of DAV college union staged a protest in the college campus on Wednesday. The students led by the student union, General Secretary, Sachin Thapliyal also stormed the office of Principal Rakesh Sharma on the issue.
The students shouted slogans and demanded that the process of stock verification should start and whole process should be transparent. A verbal duel between the students and Principal also occurred during the protest in which the infuriated students threatened that if the verification work is not resumed soon than the students would force closure of the college.
Speaking to The Pioneer, Thapliyal said that a process of stock verification of college library was initiated recently but after four days the work was abruptly stopped. He said that issue smacks of corruption and alleged that the verification work was stopped because gross irregularities and involvement of many was coming into fore into it.
