The Students Union of DAV (PG) College here has joined hands with many social organisations and the public against the alleged overcharging by private school owners. The members of the union gathered at district collectorate and registered protest against these schools on Friday.

The students were led by the president of DAV College Union Paras Goyal. He said that the harassment of common people by private schools has reached to intolerable levels. Goyal said that the students would be forced to launch a massive agitation against these schools if the state government fails to rein in these schools. He alleged that many private schools are deliberately engaged in tactics like intentionally failing the students in two-three subjects and then demanding money from the parents of such students in lieu of passing them.

The student union leaders questioned as to why these schools are allowed to charge admission fee every year. Similarly they demanded that some clear cut guideline should be issued and implemented so that these schools are restrained from arbitrarily increasing the fees every year. later a delegation of students submitted a memorandum to District Magistrate.
