Work on construction of a pedestrian route from Rambada to Kedarnath has also been in progress and have received 120 truck loads of ration so there is no scarcity of ration now,” said Dilip Jawalkar, District Magistrate of Rudraprayag.

“Whenever the weather clears up amid intermittent rains in Kedar valley, relief material is despatched to the affected villages. Since the disaster, we have received 20,256.68 quintal ration including 11,360.91 disbursed among beneficiary and 8,895 quintal will be disbursed through public distribution system (PDS) shops,” Jawalkar added.

As per the figure, 297 out of 378 PDS shops have received their foodgrains and they will start disbursing among the beneficiary so there is no scarcity of ration as such now. We have been receiving rations from three sources including State Government, PDS and NGOs.

“However, the damaged network of roads which continue to be blocked by debris brought over by rains is hampering relief operations. Meanwhile, we have arranged 23 JCB and one loader to clear the debris and to rebuild the road. In which they have received three JCB from Indian Chamber of commerce as donation, four belongs to PWD and remaining we have taken on rent form neighbouring districts and states,” he added.
