In a major relief to those students, who were registered for D Phil degree but could not submit the thesis in the stipulated time frame of seven years, the academic body of Hemwati Nandan Bahuguna Garhwal Central university has decided to give one-time waiver to such candidates. The University would give this waiver for a period of one year only during which the candidates deposit the Re registration fee.
However the D Phil registered candidates who are going to complete their seven years in future are not entitled for this one time relaxation granted by Academic Council and they are advised to submit their Thesis within the stipulated time period of seven years from the date of their registration.
The Council further resolved that the above decision of the Academic Council shall not be taken as precedence in future and the concern section shall have to act as per ordinance.
