The day the model code of conduct was enforced by the election commission, the principal Opposition party in the state, the Bharatiya Janata Party has  raised allegation  of  two more scams, the latest in the series of  alleged scams  being drummed up  by the BJP camp to tear into the ruling party.

The BJP  state spokesman Vinay Goyal said that they have stumbled upon another major scam involving purchase of bicycles.

“The bicycles have been purchased from the fund resting with the labour welfare department to be showered among the voters from the ten constituencies, now remaining unrepresented after the ten turncoat MlAs of the Congress left the party to join the BJP.  Besides, the village development officer (VDO) examination scam has also resurfaced,” he said.     Dwelling more on the cycle scam, he said that the expenses incurred for the purchase of the bicycles had been collected through cess.  “In 2014, the labour welfare board invited tender for the purchase of 2000 bicycles. When we enquired the board claimed to have distributed 17000 bicycles. However, the figure has presently shot up  to 25,000,” the BJP leader  alleged.
