In a bid to find out the kind of steps required to conserve the soil in tough terrains where the natural disaster struck this year, the Central Soil and Water Conservation Research Institute (CSWCRI) is working in 100 villages of Uttarkashi district. Simultaneously, the scientist would examine the silt samples eroded to Haridwar from the high hills.
CSWCRI director PK Mishra said, “We are working in 100 villages. Simultaneously, the silt eroded to Haridwar from high hills during disaster will be examined.” Mishra said that the scientists would find out various substances in the silt. Findings would be recorded. He further added that some of the scientists visited the areas in the district.
