In view of the tourist season, Chief Secretary N Ravishankar, through video conferencing on Monday directed the officials concerned of the Nainital district administration to take necessary steps to smoothen the basic services in Nainital city.
Directing the officials concerned of the Nainital district administration including Commissioner of Kumaon AS Nayal and Deepak Rawat, District Magistrate, Nainital, the Chief Secretary asked them to install streetlights around the Naini lake and other adjacent lakes. The Chief Secretary also asked the officials concerned of the Nainital district administration to expedite the beautification process around the lakes.
Besides, he also stressed on the need to maintain drainage system in the lake city, Nainital. More so, the Chef Secretary also directed the officials concerned of the Nainital district administration to take concrete measures to prevent flow of civic wastes and polythene into the lakes. He also asked the officials concerned to take strong action against those who are found throwing wastes into the lakes.
