After a couple of routine complaints related to land ownership in Janta Darbaar on Wednesday, complainant Anjalina Minz from Naya Toli of Tatisilwai Police Station blew a wave of shock by saying that some people were threatening to rape her. She requested both the Ministers hearing the complaints to do something as early as possible. Agriculture, Sugarcane Development Co-operative and Animal Husbandry and Fisheries Minister Randhir Kumar Singh assured Anjalina that he would look into the matter and take strict action at the earliest.
Anjalina, a student of B. Com in Marwari College, Ranchi had come to Janta Darbaar with her widow mother to donate a piece of land to Government which had turned apple of discord for her family members. She told that her father got some three acres of land from her grandfather, who gave same size of land to his other son also under equal distribution of land between two sons. But her cousin (son of only uncle) wanted to grab that land after getting her brother murdered followed by the death of her father, as there was no male member left in the family. “They use to threaten me and my mother that I must keep off the land, or they would rape me,” said Anjalina.
Her mother said in a formal complaint that she was threatened by a group of people hired by Barianus Biha (her nephew and cousin of Anjalina), who was also allegedly involved in murder of her son. She wanted that piece of land to go to government hands, rather than being grabbed by those criminals. However, Singh directed local SP to form a team to look into the matter.
Health, Medical Education and Family Welfare Minister Ramchandra Chandravanshi also heard a number of cases in Janta Darbaar. He also promised to give battery-operated tricycle to one Divyang Raju Sao from his personal fund. He requested complainants not to remain dependent at Government alone for everything.
One Bandini Devi from Namkom had come there with a request to get her little over 12 acre of land back, which was allegedly grabbed by some SPO members for more than 12 years, and was now sold to someone through a dummy owner. She alleged the involvement of local administration and a District Council member Rajesh Kachhap also, who threatened her and her family of life if she ever tried to claim that piece of land at any fora.
More than half of the cases in Janta Darbaar were of land grabbing and of land ownership, in which assistance from local administration appeared missing badly. However, a couple of suggestion-centric requests also appeared in Janta Darbaar on Wednesday. One such request came from a local BJP leader from Dhanbad who requested to equip all post mortem centres of State with Closed Circuit TV (CCTV) cameras, so that families of victims would no more require sitting for whole day around post mortem centre. According to him, it will also help ensuring fair post mortem.
