Taking note of Allahabad High Court’s order to take legal action against Jaya Pathak, additional district judge, family court, Unnao (Uttar Pradesh) who had been seen in a video while thrashing a policeman in uniform at Pramnagar police station, Premnagar police station in-charge sub-inspector Naresh Singh Rathore has registered a complaint against the accused. Besides, a case (FIR: 207/17) under sections 332, 353, 504 and 506 of IPC was registered against Pathak at Premnagar police station on Friday.
The issue was brought before the Allahabad High Court by the Uttarakhand police on September 19 following which the court has directed the police officers to take legal action against her. Notably, scuffle had occurred between two student groups-one led by Rohan Pathan, native of lucknow and the son of the accused, and the other by Prabhat Arya, native of Meerut- at Paudha Road on September 11. The brawl had repeated again at Kandoli the next day. Disputes remaining unresolved, police had intervened, summoned them to the police station and sent them back home after giving them notices under section 41 (1) of CrPC. Meanwhile, the private university of which they are the students expelled all of them. However, as Rohan Pathak had informed her mother ADJ Jaya Pathak and father Devesh Pathak, a Government advocate in lucknow Court, both had reached the police station. Jaya Pathak had allegedly threatened and manhandled a police man on duty as he was shooting a video. Police station in-charge Naresh Singh Rathore was also allegedly misbehaved by Jaya Pathak. SSP had been informed about the incident by Rathore following which the court was approached.
