Cops helpless after ABVP students lock VC, Registrar inside offices at Doon University

Published on:

Seemingly enraged by the alleged derogatory remarks against the Indian Army during student parliament recently, the students belonging to the Akhil Bhartiya Vidhyarthi Parishad (ABVP) locked the Vice-Chancellor and Registrar of Doon University in their offices on Tuesday. Shouting slogans against the students who allegedly made the remark against the army, the ABVP activists demanded that all these students should be rusticated immediately from the university. The police looked helpless as the agitated students locked the administrative block and engaged in vehement slogan shouting. The students were led by the President of the DAV PG college student union Rahul Kumar.  The ABVP activists allege that the President of the students union of the Doon University had recently termed the Indian army as rapist of Kashmiri women.  The ABVP had also lodged a complaint to the Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) of Dehradun and demanded action on those who made such derogatory remarks against Indian Army.
