Dehradun police is yet to get clues in the murder of 42 year old Geeta Devi by unidentified persons on Tuesday. She was working as a maid in the house of Sanjay Sharma, an officer in an oil company at Abu Dhabi who owns a home in Kishan Nagar under Bindal Chowki area. Police teams have been formed to solve this case, said Senior Superintendent of Police Ajay Rautela on Wednesday.
This incident has brought back memories of the two separate murders of women—40-year-old Neeru Saini under Dalanwala Police Station and 70-year-old Rajesh Sharma who was a relative of ADGP Ram Singh Meena under Patelnagar Police Station area in the broad daylight by unidentified persons. Doon police have not yet made any headway in the investigation, into these two murders. Cantt Police Station in-charge VK Jetha said that Geeta’s murder was reported on Tuesday after she was admitted to the Doon Hospital where doctors declared her dead.
Taking cognisance of a report by her husband Shiv Prasad, an FIR under was registered in the police station. As per the complainant, Geeta had been working at the Sharma residence from 10 am to 4 pm for four years now. She was murdered by unidentified persons at around 2 pm on Tuesday. She had sustained head inquiry and rope burns were found on her neck.
According to Shiv Prasad, Sharma’s wife who works as a teacher and daughter were not at home when the incident occurred. As usual, his wife had reached the Sharma residence at 10 am on Tuesday and later when Sharma’s daughter returned home around 2.30 pm, she found Geeta lying on the floor in a room. She informed her relatives and with the help of 108 ambulance, Geeta was taken to the hospital. Jetha said that the body had been sent for post mortem examination and the report was awaited.
Dehradun City Circle Officer Pramod Kumar said that homicide investigation cell and forensic team had collected clues from the site while various teams are involved in the murder investigation.
