Around dozen cops, including SSP Dr Sadanand Date and SP City Ajay Singh posted at the barricade at Rispana were reportedly manhandled and were injured when BJP protesters tried to break it during the Opposition party’s protest rally on Monday.
BJP supporters and leaders were witnessed trying to break the barricade while arguing with the cops. However, a senior police officer said that altercations and arguments breaking during a rally were normal course of things. More than dozen police cops and a few women police were injured, resulting in their being medically examined. No FIR has been registered. He said things would be decided later.
