In an interesting coincidence, rare in the corridors of state’s policing, while a senior cop Satish Shukla endowed with a passion to write books was exiting, a constable Shailendra Sharma hitherto unknown for any attribute other than policing came into the picture as one who had written scripts for two Bollywood films- ‘Teri Fitrat’ and ‘Bundela’. He had written the scripts during his five -year stay in Mumbai on deputation in CBI branch. Several film scripts written by him are in the pipeline. He had also written promotional song for World Cup-2007 in South Africa that turned an instant hit. Sharma was awarded too in the programme organised to felicitate Shukla on his superannuation and to publish his latest collection of stories. A beaming DGP Sidhu said that the policemen endowed with creative streaks would be adequately promoted.
