On behalf of Congress president Sonia Gandhi and vice-president Rahul Gandhi, Uttarakhand Pradesh Congress Committee president Kishore Upadhyay, Chief Minister Harish Rawat and the party’s State co-in-charge Sanjay Kapoor will offer a chador at the Piran Kaliyar Sharif mausoleum near Roorkee on Wednesday.
According to the Congress state spokesman the chador will be offered at the dargah for harmony, peace and prosperity in the nation. Uttarakhand PCC chief spokesman Mathuradatt Joshi informed that the Congress president and vice president had handed over the chador to Upadhyay in New Delhi. The chador will be offered at the mausoleum by the PCC chief, CM and Kapoor at pm on Wednesday. The party’s local MlAs, PCC office bearers and a considerable number of party workers are also expected to be present on the occasion, added Joshi.
