Congress-TDP politics over relief turns ugly

Published on:

The Congress and TDP leaders on Wednesday fought at the Jolly Grant airport in order to take the credit for the rescue of pilgrims, who were stranded in disaster-affected areas, from Andhra Pradesh. They reached the airport during noon to fly back the rescued pilgrims of Andhra Pradesh to their homes.

The leaders from both parties lost their cool when one said he wanted to fly back the rescued pilgrims to Andhra Pradesh. Other leaders also expressed similar claim. This led to arguments that took a bad shape when the two pushed and shoved one another.  TDP MP Ramesh Rathod and Congress MP V Hanumantha Rao had heated arguments and shouted at one another at Dehradun airport. Each of them wanted to fly back the rescued pilgrims to their State first from Dehradun. Reacting to the incident, a waiting kin remarked, “When they should have in role of consoling us, the duo are exchanging heated arguments. Instead of reacting this way, they could have discussed the issue amicably in the interest of the rescued pilgrims. They are senior leaders. This kind of approach doesn’t suit them.”
