Congress rubbishes BJP's scam allegations

Rubbishing the BJP’s allegation on the 2013 disaster relief controversy, Chief Minister Harish Rawat’s media in-charge Surendra Kumar said BJP is indulging in cheap gimmickry by harping on falsehood.

“If they are really serious they should demand inquiry into other scams that rocked the State during the BJP tenure like Kumbha-2010 scam, Dhaicha seed procurement scam and Citurgia scam as well. They should also answer why they had changed CMs twice between 2007 and 2012, yielding to mounting  corruption charges,” he said.

As far as CAG report is concerned it is just an interim report, not the final one, he said. “Instead of staging march here in Dehradun, they should stage the same in Delhi to demand the Centre to give Uttarakhand its due.  Several projects are being delayed because of the Centre’s dogged refusal to fund them,” Kumar said.

“It is clear BJP has been wilting under pressure with the popularity of the Harish Rawat soaring. Their politics of  gimmickry would not cut ice with the people. They are smart,” he added.
