Congress party passing through a difficult phase: Kishore Upadhyay

At a time when the party in power at the Centre is talking about a ‘Congress-free’ nation, the members of the Congress party will have to stand strong to ensure that the ideology of the Congress survives and thrives. The Uttarakhand Pradesh Congress Committee president Kishore Upadhyay said this while addressing party members at a function organised at the Congress Bhawan in Dehradun to mark the 129th anniversary of the Congress foundation day.

Addressing the party cadre at the event, the Uttarakhand PCC chief said, “Congress members are passing through a difficult phase. At a time when the opposition is talking about a Congress-free India, I believe that this notion must be quite disturbing for the Congress party cadre. Such a mentality must be known to the party cadre as Hitler too had similarly called for a Germany free of Jews and had gone to the extent of murdering them in gas-chambers. Exhorting the masses to exterminate an ideology is on lines similar to mentality behind the call made by Hitler,” averred Upadhyaya.

He exhorted the party cadre to comprehend work with all available resources towards protecting and nurturing the ideology that guides the Congress party against the efforts of the opposition. The Uttarakhand PCC programme in-charge Rajendra Shah, Mahila Congress State head Sarojini Kaintura and other party leaders and workers were among those present on the occasion.
