Congress, BJP candidates inexperienced, alleges Devli

Communist Party of India (Marxist) candidate Shiv Prasad Devli who filed his nomination for Tehri lok Sabha seat here in Dehradun on Thursday alleged that candidates fielded by the Congress and BJP are inexperienced and unaware of problems being faced by residents of the constituency. Since the creation of Uttarakhand, both the national parties had formed successive State Governments but failed to provide basic amenities to the people of the State.  BJP and Congress have common economic policy and are two sides of the same coin, said Devli while claiming that his party has always safeguarded the interests of common people especially the labour class.

The CPI (M) candidate alleged that parties like BJP, Congress and others make false claims to the voters during election and neglect public concerns after winning the election.Along with supporters, Devli led a road show from Old Bus Station to Collectorate before filing his nomination.

Addressing the media after filing his nomination, Devli said that while campaigning in the constituency, he saw people suffering from lack of drinking water and health facilities, poor quality of education in government schools, inadequate irrigation facilities, poor execution of public distribution system, poor quality of roads and other problems. There is strong resentment in the public against the BJP and Congress and they are finding a ray of hope in CPI (M), he added.

“In my 35 years of experience as a public representative at various levels, I have served the people by addressing their grievances. I appeal the voters to exercise their franchise in my favour and their grievances will be addressed after I am elected,” he added.

BJP candidate Mala Rajya laxmi Shah who won Tehri  parliamentary by poll about two years ago failed to raise people’s problems in the parliament. The Congress-led Central Government has been marred by massive corruption, unprecedented price rise, acute distress of farmers and glaring inequalities, he added.
