Gearing up for the 2017 Assembly election, Uttarakhand Congress Committee has appointed Kameshwar Rana as the Pauri District Congress Committee acting president, a process that signifies that the State party leadership is intent on replacing the old horses with the green horns, to lend dynamism to the organisation.
The district Congress rank and file welcomed the decision, saying that it would augur well for the party to take the upcoming electoral challenge in the right earnest. Elated after Rana was made the acting president of the district unit of the party, the activists celebrated with bursting crackers and shouting slogans when Rana came to attend the party workers’ meeting on Tuesday.
