Ignoring the incompetence of its own top leaders, the Congress is resorting to spread lies about Bharatiya Janata Party leaders. Levelling this allegation, the BJP State media in-charge Devendra Bhasin said that a jhooth gang has become active in the Congress to spread lies regarding BJP candidates.
He said that recently a Congress spokesman had alleged that the Tehri MP Mala Rajya Laxmi Shah had done nothing during her term so far. He said, “In fact, she asked 33 questions and participated in 33 debates in the Lok Sabha on issues related to Tehri constituency and Uttarakhand. Her attendance in the Lok Sabha was 90 to 100 per cent in different sessions. Compared to this, the UPA chairperson Sonia Gandhi asked zero questions and participated only in six debates. Her attendance was about 60 per cent. The Congress leaders are ignoring the lack of work by their own leaders and spreading lies about our leaders. There is a long list of works which the Tehri MP has facilitated during her tenure. On the other hand, the Congress candidate, Pritam Singh, during his tenure as cabinet minister in the Congress government had hardly done any work outside the Chakrata region he represents in the Assembly.
Also during his tenure as a cabinet minister, the food grains scam was orchestrated and the condition of law and order had deteriorated in the state, while he used to claim that the then chief minister did not pay heed to him.” He also questioned whether Rajya Sabha member from Uttarakhand, Raj Babbar had raised a single issue related to the State. The people of the state have hardly seen him, he added.
Bhasin also said that talk of the BJP’s Garhwal MP, BC Khanduri joining the Congress party at its party president Rahul Gandhi’s planned rally is another lie being spread by the opposition.
Regarding star campaigners, he said that former chief minister Vijay Bahuguna will be addressing public rallies at Nainbagh, Chaka and Badkot on April 2 while Nainital-Udham Singh Nagar MP and former CM Bhagat Singh Koshyari will be addressing public rallies at Tharali, Kapkot and Chamba before addressing the media in Dehradun on April 3.
