The Congress has accused the Union Government of protecting industrialist Vijay Mallya instead of taking necessary action against him. Addressing the media here on Tuesday, the Pradesh Congress Committee president Kishore Upadhyay also condemned the BJP for the injury caused to a police horse during the opposition’s gherao of the assembly.
He accused the BJP MlA Ganesh Joshi of being guilty of causing injury to the horse during protest rally and said that action should be taken as per the law in this case. Upadhyay opined that the BJP’s gherao of the assembly on Monday was a failed attempt without any purpose.
The number of people who participated in the gherao was much less than the numbers expected by the BJP leaders. Apart from the deplorable incident of the Mussoorie MlA causing injury to a horse, the BJP had also attempted to incite the public, further alleged the PCC chief.
