The Uttarakhand Pradesh Congress Committee has called upon the BJP to cooperate with the Harish Rawat-led State Government which is attempting to improve the economy in disaster affected areas of the State.
The Uttarakhand PCC spokesman Anshul Shri Kunj said that the State Government is exhorting industrialists to set up industry in the State.
Attempts are also being made to attract tourists and pilgrims for reviving the tourism sector. “The BJP should desist from making statements that cause hesitation among industrialists and tourists,” said Kunj.
Responding to BJP MlA from Didihat Bishan Singh Chuphal alleging that his constituency was being ignored by the State Government, he asked the MlA to cite the problem which could not be redressed in his constituency either during his earlier tenure as the cabinet minister in the previous State Government or during his present term as an MlA.
“At a time when some BJP MlAs are appreciating the works being undertaken by the State Government, the allegations being leveled by Chuphal are baseless”, he averred, while adding that Chief Minister Harish Rawat has already clarified that the review of Vidhan Sabha constituencies not done yet will be undertaken after the Vidhan Sabha session.
