Continuing its opposition to Central Government policies, the Uttarakhand Pradesh Congress Committee has decided that “Arhar ki Dal pe Charcha” will be held on Monday to discuss consistent price rise of essential commodities like pulses.
This ‘charcha’ will be held at all district, block and Nyay Panchayat headquarters after which Congress members will burn the Central Government in effigy to protest against its policies. If the Central Government still remains apathetic, the Congress will take out candle marches across the State on October 26, said the UPCC president Kishore Upadhyay.
Chairing a party meet on the weekend, Upadhyay reviewed preparations for its State level meet to be held on November 1 at Gairsain. He said that various proposals will be passed in the party meeting in Gairsain like on dedicating the meet to Statehood activists, against the policies of the Central Government and its apathy towards Uttarakhand.
