Terming the chief minister Trivendra Singh Rawat’s declaration on ‘Benami Properties Act’ as old wine in new bottle, the state unit of Congress party has stated that such a law already exists.  The Vice President of state unit of Congress party, Surya Kant Dhasmana said that a law on the ‘ Benami properties’ already exists in the state. He said that instead of making statements, the government should enforce the act introduced in the year 2011.

Dhasmana said that state government is only engaging in rhetoric on corruption and the National Highway 74 land procurement and broadening scam is an example of this where nothing is being done now. He accused the state government of being neck deep in corruption and said that the BJP leaders are patronising illegal mining, liquor and land mafia in the state.
