While the State BJP hailed the Rail Budget, the State Congress criticised it, dubbing it 'impractical'. Reacting to the Rail Budget, State Congress spokesperson, Deepak Balutiya said there is nothing in this rail budget left for the common people. As far as the woman security in railway is concerned, the BJP led NDA Government has taken things to ludicrous level by announcing installation of CCTVs in railways coaches, he said.

Balutiya further said the Government has proposed nothing to curb the menace of tickets being sold to the passengers in the black markets.State BJP, however, hailed the Budget, saying, it is forward-looking. The party’s State  general secretary Prakash Pant said that this is the first time in the annals of railway’s history in India that the Centre has focused on strengthening railway infrastructure along with providing better services to the people.

As per the provisions made in the Budget, 67 per cent would be spent on providing better services to the passengers, Pant maintained.By not raising the passenger fare, the Government has definitely provided relief to the common people. It is a welcome step, he further said. The Government’s decision to install CCTVs with round the clock -138 railway helpline would definitely help ensure safety and security of the passengers, he further said.
